Destination: grocery store.

Observation: Stopped by to pick up a few things. My panniers can fit a few items, and since I don’t have a trailer, I end up going grocery shopping often. Tonight’s dinner included broccoli.

Destination: bike shop.

Observation: Actually, my intended destination was CycleLife– it’s been a while since I popped in to say hello– but they don’t open until noon on Sundays, and I didn’t have time to wait. Bicycle Pro Shop, however, was open. I desperately needed to get my new saddle adjusted properly, and the guy did so quickly and expertly. I also bought a spare tube.

Destination 2: tea.

Observation: Since I was in Georgetown, I figured I’d get a snack. I visited Ching Ching Cha and got a pot of Eight Treasures tea, vegetable dumplings, and a coconut tart. I was sorry I didn’t have more time to hang out and look at their teapots and cups, but homework awaits.

Destination: work.

Observation: It feels great to ride in the sun- if it weren’t so windy, it would actually feel pretty warm. I actually like working the occasional Saturday because I don’t have to contend with traffic.

Er, Randonnee? No, Errand-onnee!

Ms. MG comes up with creative challenges for bike riding and getting around town. This time, it’s the errandonnĂ©e, in which participants have to complete 12 errands in 12 days for a total of 30 miles.

I shamefully have not risen to her previous challenges, either due to laziness (so many rules made me too tired), or bad scheduling. But for the first time, I think I may actually have a chance at completing this one. The only thing that will hold me back is extreme exhaustion after a brevet. But, I will give it a go!
